KUCERA advises B&B Hotels on the acquisition of Leto Motels

The French hotel group B&B Hotels and its German company B&B Hotels Germany GmbH have acquired the hotel portfolio of the Starnberg hotel chain Leto Motels by way of an asset deal. The five economy hotels acquired include four existing properties in Munich and Nuremberg as well as a hotel project under construction in Augsburg. Corresponding agreements were reached with the landlords of the hotels for B&B to take over the existing rental contracts. The acquisition increases B&B’s portfolio in Germany to 142 hotels in 91 German cities, bringing B&B a step closer to its goal of expanding its network to 300 hotels in Germany by 2030.

KUCERA partners Matthias Frank (Hospitality) and Dr Stefan Kucera (Real Estate) were responsible together with Birgit Böhn, Helmut Kienle and Michael Plehn (Hospitality). KUCERA partner Isabel Tannenberg (Taxation) provided tax advice.

With about 30 professionals, KUCERA is one of the largest German law firms specialising in real estate law and is known, among other things, for its strong hotel and food catering industry practice. KUCERA’s hospitality team led by partner Matthias Frank is one of the most experienced in the German market and advises numerous well-known hotel operators, as well as hotel project developers and hotel investors on hotel operating agreements. B&B has been a regular client of KUCERA since 2014 and is regularly advised by KUCERA on hotel leases, hotel transactions, management contracts and litigation.
